Lough
Currane is set in one of the most spectacular areas of Ireland, on the edge
of the McGillicuddy Reeks which include the highest mountain in Ireland, Carrauntoohil
near Killarney. Lough Currane itself is surrounded by mountains peat bog and
forestry making it a beautiful environment in which to fish.
In the lake is Church Island which has the remains of an ancient monastic settlement, including church, tombs and beehive huts.
